- A Scalpel Blade also known as Surgical Blade, is used to cut skin and tissue during surgical procedures. It comes in various sizes and each size has different design. The shape of the blade is designed according to the intended use. Surgical scalpels consist of two parts, a blade and a handle. The handles are often reusable, with the blades being replaceable. In medical applications, each blade should be used only once (sometimes just for a single or for a small cut).
